Alternative dispute resolution
Conciliation and mediation are processes employers may use to resolve complaints of discrimination. These are ideal processes for employers that want to deal with human rights issues without delay and without the complexity and costs associated with an internal investigation, grievance or complaint to the Alberta Human Rights Commission. When properly managed, conciliation and mediation provide alternatives to more adversarial ways of dealing with complaints. Overall, individuals and organizations report high levels of satisfaction with these methods of resolving disputes.
