1. WEBINAR SERIES: Understanding and Preventing Harassment in the Workplace Series 
The Commission is offering the following free webinars:

Webinar 1: Roles and Responsibilities of Organizations
This webinar will provide the participants with an understanding of harassment, the rights and responsibilities of employers in preventing harassment, along with how best to respond to and manage harassment in the workplace.

 Audience: Managers, supervisors, union representatives and anyone else who is designated to respond to complaints of harassment in their organization

Webinar 2: I am Being Harassed or Witnessing Harassment. What Can I do?
This webinar will focus on recognizing harassment and knowing what to do when an employee is being harassed or witnesses harassment in the workplace.

 2. PUBLIC WORKSHOPS: Human Rights in the Workplace
The full-day Human Rights in the Workplace public workshops, intended for anyone wanting basic human rights information, will provide participants with:
  • an overview of Alberta's human rights legislation,
  • information about the duty to accommodate,
  • an understanding of harassment in the workplace, and
  • strategies for preventing harassment in the workplace.

3. FORUMS: Human Rights in Employment Forum Series

The Alberta Human Rights Commission, together with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, Enbridge Pipelines Inc., Sturgeon County and the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties is offering breakfast forums in Edmonton and Calgary. Employers, subject matter experts and legal counsel gather to discuss and better understand current human rights issues and how it affects employers and employees. 

The breakfast forums are available to the public and are particularly recommended for:
  • Business owners
  • Human resource practitioners
  • Managers
