Workshops

Our workshops provide an overview of Alberta's human rights legislation, concepts like the duty to accommodate, and strategies for preventing and dealing with discrimination.

We currently offer a Human Rights in the Workplace online public workshop. The workshop is open to anyone wanting basic human rights information, including employees and employers. Workshop attendees will learn about:

  • Alberta's human rights legislation, especially as it relates to the workplace
  • Discrimination and harassment in the workplace
  • The duty to accommodate
  • Human rights and the employment process
  • The human rights complaint process
  • Strategies for preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace

The workshop takes place online over two half-days. It is interactive and provides attendees with opportunities to participate in group discussions. Check the Events and significant dates page for upcoming dates.


Members of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta (CPHR Alberta) earn seven Continuing Professional Development hours.

Online courses

The Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies (CASHRA) has free, online courses available for anyone wanting to learn more about human rights and responsibilities.
